Hmm.. Hungry? MASALA ZONE.

So, my fellow blogger Nand and I were heading out for lunch on a lovely London day out and came across Masala Zone, in Covent Garden.

It is situated on Floral Street (opposite the Royal Opera House) and really stands out the second you lay eyes on it! The trademark orange and yellow coloured motif represents the warmth which it brings from India and its delicious cuisine. Straight away you want to step in and find out what it has to offer! Its unique interior design is completely different from any other Indian restaurant you would ever go to. Hanging from the ceiling, you have miniature puppet like dolls which create a lovely atmosphere bringing back a part of Rajastan. To top it all off, they set the mood with a relaxing Indian songs playlist. Whether we understood it or not was a different story!

Its Gujarati cuisine offered a great selection of dishes and had a good easy-to -read menu. We decided to go for the set menu which included a main course and dessert. It was my first time at a Gujarati restaurant and it was made very clear as to what was included in each dish. Also with the help of Nand, we luckily chose the right dishes and enjoyed it very much! The staff there were very helpful and friendly, especially Vicky (that was his name right?) :) They all certainly took good care of us and left us both smiling with their brilliant service.

The food was delicious and definitely affordable. With our chosen set menu we got away with having a great meal for around £11 each which wasn’t bad at all. It’s also great to plan a birthday there, as they do take reservations for over 10 people. It’s so conveniently located right in the middle of Covent Garden with great surroundings like the market just a few minutes’ walk away. After having a satisfying meal, we left with a full stomach and a decision to definitely go back again!
