Jendella goes WEST!!

Clap for yourself if you understood the humour...

SOOO. Westfield shopping centre opened nearly a month ago and I hadn't been yet...

1) Because the money situation has not been consumer friendly, so there's no point tempting myself by going and mooching around shops and coming away with nothing but deflated dreams and legs made of lead.

2) I really was not THAT bothered about it, there was none of the excitement that came when the Bull Ring opened in Birmingham back when I was in year 10 or 11 or whenever that was - thought honestly this could just because of 1).

But today I decided that I was going to buy my new MacBook Pro (glitter should fall from the ceiling here...) and I thought it would be a perfect excuse to go to Westfields and purchase one from the Apple Store (or the Mac Shop as too many people seem to want to call it...), especially because OXFORD STREET IS CRAP. Too many people pushing you into the paths of oncoming traffic, and too many (of the same) stupid shops, who needs 3 "Surprise Surprise" stores within the space of a 10 minute walk!?

So after church me and my dear friend Sam went (after I had made a phonecall ahead...no disapointments like last time I went all the way to Regent St to find out that every single MacBook Pro was sold out in the whole blarsted country!!) and it was *quite* an adventure.

FIRSTLY. It's ma-hoooo-ssive. I went there all ready to be biased to the (good old) Bull Ring, but unfortunately the Bull Ring's parade go royally POO-ED on, because Westfields is just BIG. And the array of shops is credit-crunch busting. As in when you are in there, you forget about this supposed "recession" that we are apparently meant to be spiralling head first into, you just wanna play Dale's Supermaerket Sweep. Except instead of rushing between isles of baked beans, you see Miu Miu on your right and Louis Vuitton on your left...De Beers is right infront of you and directly behind is House of Fraser.

If this sounds to depressing for you (because this is NOT Sex in the City), then turn the corner and you will find H&M, and all your High Street shops looking absolutely glorious. To be fair the only shops I went into was Apple Store, Paperchase (to feed the stationary obsession), Carphone Warehouse and Desigual, because the money situation is still not on top...but it was a nice experience, enough open spaces to save you treading on the back of strangers shoes and what not.

So yeah, the Desigual shop was the highlight (apart from buying my beautiful MacBook), I think Sam was slightly scared by the loud prints and wierd music but I was in Jendelland (another word for Wonderland tee hee).
But the accessories were just tempting me, I'm a bit of a bag fiend to be honest, but the arm candy on show was just ridiculous. My last treat was some Barry M white nail polish, this time I think I'm gonna have to up the budget and do something really amazing that I can be proud of so I can justify buying myself some Desigual loveliness. And I saw some drop crotch trousers that were just calling my name...to be fair, I haven't really been backing the drop-crotch trend because for some reason i think being tall it just won't be a look my mom would be proud of...but I *might* just change my mind...

I would post some pictures...HOWEVER, I'm still getting used to this trackpad business (yes I'm bloggin on the new 'BookPro), and I'm a bit baffled, because I'm not one for these touchpads, gimme a mouse any day and I will use it with my laptop, no questions arsked!!

On another note, I wanna be a Waggamama's waitress (or a Wagamama's Mama...).

Good night.

CAYG - Croydon Asian Youth Group.

CAYG – Croydon Asian Youth Group.

Initially started up by Muneem Muzamdar and Muzzy Syed in 2004, CAYG is a group created especially for the youth of Croydon and encouraging young people around the area to get involved within the community.

The aim of this group was to attract many teenagers living in and near Croydon to get involved in many activities and helping arrange events which would lead on to raising money for charity. Many talented and skilful teenagers got the chance to get together and express their views and opinions of things going on around them. It originally started with 4 people, and now with over 100 members, the group is growing strong and moving onto a brighter future!

Every year, CAYG organize a show which involves various different performances by talented teenagers, including a fashion show sponsored by local boutiques. The show gets better and better each year raising even more money for charity. In November 2007, the show was taken to another level with professional equipment hired, makeup artists brought in making the show worthwhile with an even bigger crowd.

27th October at Fairfield Halls is where this year’s show, ‘Breakout’ took place. High expectations from last year attracted most of the crowd this time round. With a bigger and better location for the show, over a 100 people were expected to be there. This year’s show was in memory of Damilola Taylor and raising money for the trust. Stopping gun and knife crime on the streets of London is something we all need to work towards to make everyone’s future a positive one.

The show started off with the hosts of the show, Amz and Divya, making an entrance. Venus TV’s show ‘Ek aur Ek 11’ Salman and Farouk were probably the highlight of the show. With their hilarious jokes and wacky dance moves, the certainly made the crowd cry with laughter. The show carried on with an amazing dance performance by Fusion. The routine was great and got the crowd dancing too which was fun! Damilola Taylor’s father, Richard Taylor made a moving speech explaining the purpose of the trust he has set up in memory of his son.

The show continued with talented dancers and singers performing which takes guts I’d say! The whole show was wonderful and so well planned. The people participating in the show were so enthusiastic about it and took so much time out to rehearse for it too.

I hope CAYG continue to organize such great shows year after year and carry on raising money for charity. This not only helps the teenagers of the community getting involved in a good cause, but also helps to send out a positive message all young people!

Definitely Worth Staying Up For.

Pardon my absence, my fellows, but here I am. So in heavy anticipation we sat, because really and truly it was going to be a mad encounter. Here's the facts, not boring in Calzaghe's case though:

Joe Calzaghe, UNDEFEATED Super Middleweight Champion/Light Heavyweight Champion. His record is pretty sick.

Fights - 46
Wins - 46
KO's - 32.

Roy Jones Jr. This guy's pretty much won everything at least once.

Fights - 57
Wins - 52
KO's - 38
12 Rounds. Let's go.

Jones using his infamous technique of holding his left hand below the waist; he's notoriously known for coming in on the right and killing off opponents with his left. It's no wonder considering his knockout record.

But Calzaghe comes with 'a barrage of punches to spark man unconscious'.

Jones would've given a much better performance had he not been cut so early in the fight. And he might have gotten too excited after getting a first round knockdown. But let me not spoil your fun. Check it out.

Gee Whiz Norma

I just cannae ('can't' in Scottish dontcha know!) seem to keep up with my fellow 25th bloggers ya kna ('you know' in Londonish - broad Londonish). Sorry abouurrriitt ('about it' in Nigerian Pidgin English).

Yes people I'm quad-lingual...how ya like them apples!!

Anyways. When I scrape together enough pennies, I wanna head east-wards to Tokyo. Like pronto, because the Japanese are blumming geniuses. Not just because of technology and all that malarky, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Yamaha, Yzuku (I mighta just made the last one up...but sounds legit ennit!!) - whatever mayne! They're genuises - or "geni" (someone told me that was the plural form of genius) - because they have the best blarsted gameshows in the world.

The games are just amazing, nothing short of an artform. So despite the wierd obsession that business men have with young girls underwear or suttin such, and despite the Sailor Moon schoolgirl outfits (do they still have them?), Japan is the bombdiggidy. Their array of jumpsuits is quite impressive as well, conformity at it's most lovely jubbly.

So here are some videos for ya, never fails to brighten my day, or night, when I should be in bed but can't get to sleep because I haven't spoken to that certain somebody...cheez. God forgive me.

LOL. You see the problem here? And kudos on the stripy pyjamas...

I wish I knew what they were saying...

How's that for endurance. He's in a suit as well. He's like Agent Smith from the Matrix. Are they falling in flour at the end??
But where else would you see Agent Smith, a geisha and your Japanese grandad doing hurdles on a treadmill - JAPAN! That's flaming where!

No words are necessary to describe the emotion.

If you haven't seen this you've been hiding under a rock. With Patrick.

That's all for our cultural lesson for the day. Konichiwa!

The Lion King Production - By Shamzy.

The Lion King at Lyceum Theatre, Covent Garden.

Disney’s Lion King was released in 1994 and the theatre production at the Lyceum has been running for quite a few years now, since October 1999. I think, currently it’s the longest running production.

Okay, so i've been wanting to see this since I remember and absolutely everyone who I know who has seen this has loved it, no one has had anything bad to say about it and many have seen it more then once. I think I shall include myself in that category. I saw this on 5th November and I have nothing bad to say about the production. Everything was just amazing. The characters, the setting, the stage, the colours, the music, the singing, the dance, the costumes and the performances. Everything was just spot on. There were even a few additional scenes that were not related to the actual movie, but that didn’t matter because it still just fitted in perfectly. The beginning scene was so amazing, I’m probably going to say this so many times, but that’s exactly how it was, amazing. It brought tears to my eyes. It felt as if everything was real; you’d just forget that these were people performing on stage and not real animals. But that’s part of the magic of the show – how the audience becomes so drawn in. It’s just… so spectacular the way it’s been organised it’ll just blow you away, it’s breathtaking. I feel like I’ve taken a part of this with me and it’s always going to be there. The songs are still stuck in my head!

Transport wise, well it’s pretty easy to get there. Covent Garden is the nearest Tube station and it’s about a 5mins walk from there and well if I can follow directions and get there then YOU can too. Something about the prices, they start at £60 and I can understand some people thinking that that is way too expensive but I can guarantee that after watching it, it would be sixty pounds well spent. Now, I didn’t spend that much and my seats were further back but I would definitely watch it again, and pay more to get closer. It's just worth every damn penny; in fact I think it’s just one of those things you could never get bored of.

Anyone can enjoy this and at any time, whether you go with your family, friends, children, or your partner it doesn’t matter because you would have just the most fantastic time ever. The advertisement posters say something along the lines of ‘come and experience it’ and I can say that I have, and adored every single moment. I’d recommend it to everyone.. :)

GET YUH SKATES ON.

Now come on, let us admit it. We all love a bit of ice-skating. Well, those of you who DO know how to skate must love it, the rest are on my team.

The festive winter season has begun and what a way to start it with the grand opening of the Natural History Museum’s ice rink. The winter ice-skating season has definitely begun as many people were storming in through the gates of Natural History Museum’s ice rink. With its beautiful surroundings and bar serving warm hot chocolate and mulled wine, a trip to the ice rink is the perfect way to get over those winter blues.

If ice-skating is your thing then you’ll definitely love this. I’m sure there are a lot of people out there struggling to wait for this time of year! But then again, it’s even more hilarious watching people fall flat on their ass and literally cry of embarrassment.. Or maybe pain? Hmm, I DONT WANNA JINX MYSELF.

Okay so I’ve picked out a few places which I think will be the best year, as per usual in London town. Get down to at least one of these ice rinks and you’ll have an ace time. Take a whole bunch of friends and end up with crazy stomach aches after fits of laughter watching each other fall!

Goli Maar

Now, this blog is for Raj a.k.a Toastman,

(Normal Disguise)

(Toastman Disguise)

A good friend and soon to be blogger of 25th, probably the number one fan of the Indian Thriller look/dance/song..

And for those who haven't seen it yet..

Oh and recently he modelled for OZWALD BOATENG at the Africa Rising Concert at Albert Hall

Stay cool Raj.. Let your Soul Glo Baby..

Eventful Daze.

It all started with Nandini telling me about the Vice x Tiger Beer free party, in Chinatown. I was promised ladyboys, a marshall arts display and free beer.

What I got? Some fucked up transexual.
Upon taking the picture shown, he/she/it said, 'ooooh not that one delete that one'. What a wank. And his/her/it's karaoke was giving me some creeps.
The night fizzled on, not that many people arriving, a lot of the people already there seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was 'their' kinda scene.
A lot of the younger heads reached at Naked Lunch, at the Rainbow on Digbeth. I didn't. So that's the end of that embellishment!

Nandini couldn't get enough of the beer:

I forgot to wash the fake blood off until several days later:

I got home and was pretty beat. But onwards and upwards, the next few days were literally a daze, it's hard to recollect events after certain other events took place.

Dogs lookin' bigger.

Woof.

Tights Glorious Tights.

So theres this company specialising in some of the hottest tights I've seen..
Check it out, tres sexy.

Dog Laws - BARKING MAD.

This is by far the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. Well actually, the most random.

I was reading the London Lite newspaper (which is the London Paper’s rival evening newspaper) the other day and read through the most random article ever. “Jail risks for owners walking pets.”

The Environment Secretary, Hilary Benn, published a number of strong new codes of conduct for dog, cat and horse owners. Dog owners whose pets are too thin or too fat, are fed from the table or are walked in hot weather risk being jailed for up to six months according to these new rules!

So all you dog owners.. (Including Saj) read carefully. The code states;

· Avoid feeding from the table or plate as this can encourage dogs to beg or bark.
· Do not feed your dog immediately before travel as this can cause travel sickness.
· Dogs should not be fed within an hour before or after vigorous exercise as this can lead to bloating.
· You should avoid walking your dog during the hottest part of the day.
· Provide your dog with a comfortable, dry, draught-free resting area. {AHEM SAJ}
· You should ensure your dog is neither too fat nor too thin.
· You should ensure that your dog’s coat is properly groomed.
· Leave your dog in peace if it is eating.

LOL. This is actually FOR REAL. Oh yes.

Breaching the rules will not only be a crime, but when an individual appears in court, they can be accused of a pet welfare offence with a maximum jail sentence of six months or a fine of up to £20,000.

I’m sure most dog owners would follow these rules to avoid such penalties, however mad it sounds! After all, it is a doggy dog world.. ;)

Ah yes.

Just remembered the film 'Head of State' with Chris Rock and Bernie Mac(R.I.P).

Bet they didnt think it would happen, so soon..

Oh and check out MIA/Blaqstarr S.U.S.

"Our time to reclaim the American dream." – Barack Obama

After a long two years of campaigning, Mr Barack Obama has finally come through on top of the biggest elections in history. Obama has made it as the first black President of the United States and bringing hope to many people around the country and even around the world.

About a quarter of a million people turned up in Chicago, his home town, for his victory speech. Famous faces in the crowd were overwhelmed with emotion and were listening carefully to the promises Obama made.

"This is our time, to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope." Victory truly belongs to all of us.

The two senators, John McCain and Barack Obama, campaigned strongly up till the last day of elections attracting as many citizens to cast their vote.

Obama lead by 349 electoral college votes against 161 his rival McCain. He was flying through the votes and passed well beyond the 270 number that he needed to win.

Many tears of joy were shed when the results were announced as the citizens of America celebrated the excellent news. People came out on the streets to show their happiness and celebrate in style!

A big crowd people carried on cheering for McCain as he said his speech and made clear “fought as hard as we could and though we fell short the failure is mine not yours".

Obama’s wise words in his victory speech grabbed the whole world’s attention and lead onto being congratulated by many leaders across the world.

“To those who would tear the world down, we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security, we support you.”

GO ON OBAMA.. keep it up. :)

OBAMA..

*sigh of relief*
This is BIG.

Was watching the live election feed on TV last night, till it got to Obama 259.
One thing that got me laughing was John Culshaw was a guest on ITV's live election feed, and proceeded to do an interview doing different impressions of the Prime Ministers and Presidents.

Lets hope no silly shit happens now. Not with Obama himself, but with the idiots at play that will probably try to assassinate him. Gosh that'll anger me.

Yesterday i read something McCain said, something that just showed where his priorities were... Something like.. {Obama will spread the Wealth whereas I'm gonna create Wealth.} I think Americas priority should be sorting shit out before developing and adding to it.

I've never seen people cry in disbelief and look so relieved at the results of an election. U.S. one especially.

Alot of young people actually voted too, big help to Obama, cause they actually felt the importance of the elections this time. There's a strong sense of change, progress, hope and revolution that comes with Barrack.

OBAMA ART
is naice.

and now for McCain ART

um.. 'LOL'

SKI AND BOARD SHOW 2008

So I was working all weekend at the Ski and Board Show assisting the Organisers Office, when i was asked to do it, I thought ok cool, just another standard show, nothing special, it'll be worth it when i get the pay cheque.. I'm the kinda girl who loves sun, and hates cold weather and snow, so you'd guess I'd show no actual interest in the show itself.
My oh my, did I enjoy my weekend. NOTE. my phone died. And I'm the only one in my house on my network so i went from this;
to a.. no.. noo I can't do it. I can't put a picture up. *tears well up.* To a phone without a camera. that looks like a brick. And i didnt have a camera with me. Sorry guys.

Celebrating its 20th year at the NEC, the British Ski and Board Show featured some mind blowing Big Air Freestyle demonstrations from World and Olympic Champions on Europe’s largest indoor ramp.

Sponsored by The Daily Telegraph, this year’s show featured Big Air 2008, in which the world’s best skiers and snowboarders performed freestyle aerial displays, jumping off a 45-degree ramp.

The Boarders..
DANNY MORANDINI

This guy was wicked. A former Intermilan football player, looks a bit like Woody Harrelson!
LUCY LIEBERHERR

This beautiful talented Swiss chica had an infectious smile, and was pretty neat on the ramp. Sorry guys i wasnt note taking enough, was really not expecting to come home intending to write a blog on my day.
The Freestyle Skiers..

MISRA NOTO

Swiss. Amazing.

LUKAS VOKATY
From the Czech Republic. Aerialist too. Combined World Champion.

NICO THEPAUT
French. Came 3rd in World Cup Aerial Title 2008

The Aerialists..

UH_MAZING.

CHRISTIAN RIJAVEC
Austrian. Best Aerialist in the last 10 years. Did a high flying twisting double. WHoo. I remember this guy well. His goatee was fooony.

The talent was mint. I was literally sneaking out to watch as many of the shows as i could, they were the same each time but I loved watching it all!
:'( Wish i could do that.
